What is the purpose of this site?
Like many of you, we're always buying things on Internet Auctions, or going to Conventions and Shows. We felt it would be fun to have a site to
match wits and pricing knowledge with other Collectors. The Prizes keep things interesting add to the Challenge!
What's the catch? Is it free to enter Challenges?
Absolutely! There will never be a fee to Challenge other Collectors on this site. There is no catch! You do not have to bid on any of the
auctions we provide as Challenges. You just have to be willing to make an educated Guess on what the Final Bid will be on that Challenge. To make
a Guess you must first Sign Up for our website. You will be sent an email with your Login instructions, and once you
login you will then be able to place a Guess on any Challenge on BidKahuna.com. Please view our Privacy Policy
and Terms and Conditions before registering.
What is a Challenge and how do you Win one?
A Challenge is an Internet Auction that we've selected for you to Guess the Final Bid for. The easiest way to Win is by guessing the EXACT Final Bid Amount. Otherwise, the way you Win is by having the closest Guess over
or under the actual Final Bid amount. In the event of a tie from two or more Challengers, the Challenger who placed their Guess earliest will be
considered the Winner.
What if an Auction closes early?
If an Auction closes early we will cancel the Challenge, nullifying all Guesses placed by all Challengers. Challenger's Statistics will not be
effected when this occurs. If you find an Auction which has closed early which we have not yet cancelled, please Contact
Us.
How do you become one of the monthly BidKahuna.com Prize Winners?
Every month one Challenger is selected the BidKahuna Winner in each Challenge Category on the site (Comics, Sports, Statues, etc.). However,
the Challenger with the best overall ranking during that month across all categories will be crowned the BidKahuna of the Month.
Statistically it might not be any of the Challenge Category Winners who becomes the BidKahuna.
Our selection process is fairly straightforward. The Challenger with the most Wins in a Month in a Challenge Category, is considered the
Victor of that Challenge Category. The Challenger with the most Overall Wins in a Month in all Challenge Categores (all active Categories
combined), becomes the BidKahuna of the Month. In the event of a tie with the number of Wins, the Challenger with the best Challenge %
Rank in the respective Category, or Overall, will be considered the Victor.
For a Category to qualify for the monthly prize, there must be at least 10 closed auctions in that Category during the month.
What do you give away as Prizes each Month?
The BidKahuna of the Month gets to choose one of three available Prizes, each having a minimum retail value of $100. The three
available prizes will typically change each month. Each Challenge Category Winner receives a BidKahuna.com t-shirt.
Some Challenges have Prizes associated with them?
Yes. From time to time we'll have individual Challenges that will have a Prize for the Winner of that Challenge. These Prizes are usually
sponsored by an outside Advertiser, Partner or Vendor. These Challenges will also count towards the Monthly and Overall Challenge Ranks. If you
would like to Sponsor a Challenge and supply a Prize, for one of your own auctions or one that we choose, please Contact
Us with your ideas. We'll let you know if it is something we would consider.
How do you choose the Auctions in your Challenges?
We're always on the lookout for unique Internet Auctions to Challenge our Members. We typically consider Internet Auctions with low starting
Bids and No Reserve because they tend to be more Challenging to gauge. What's the fun guessing the Final Bid on an Auction whose starting Bid is
already at market price?
We are also not opposed to anyone suggesting that we Challenge our Members with their Internet Auction(s). If you wish to make a suggestion
please Contact Us. Please understand that we cannot guarantee that we'll use your Auction(s) in any of our Challenges.
